Vice-President greets the nation on the eve of Janmashtami

On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, I extend my cordial greetings and best wishes to all my countrymen.

Today we celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna who embodies love and devotion. His teachings reaffirm the timeless message of the victory of “Dharma” (righteousness) over “Adharma” (evil). His profound wisdom, as envisioned in the Bhagavad Gita, would serve as an eternal guide for humanity in its quest for truth and righteousness.

We embrace Lord Krishna’s message of ‘Nishkam Karma’ in carrying out our duties. May this Janmashtami bring peace, joy and harmony in our lives.

On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, I extend cordial greetings and best wishes to all Indians.

We celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, the epitome of love and devotion, as Janmashtami. His timeless teachings convey the message of the victory of justice over injustice, of the victory of good over evil. The path of knowledge proposed by him in the Gita paves the way for the service and well-being of humanity in the true sense of the word.

We resolve to fulfill our responsibilities by imbibing Shri Krishna’s message of selfless action in our conduct. May this Janmashtami bring peace, joy and harmony in our lives, this is the auspicious wish.
