Vice Advocates for Direct Transfer of Fertilizer and Other Subsidies to Farmers’ Accounts

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has called for direct financial assistance to farmers, emphasizing that such measures could significantly enhance their income. During his address at the ‘Agri-Industry Conclave’ in Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh, he highlighted the disparity between farmers’ incomes in India and those in the United States, attributing the difference to direct government support in the latter. Dhankhar proposed that if subsidies were provided directly to farmers, each could potentially receive an annual benefit of ₹35,000. He urged the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to develop a comprehensive strategy to maximize these benefits for farmers.

In his remarks, Vice President Dhankhar stressed the importance of direct aid to farmers, stating that it is crucial for improving their livelihoods.
