UPSC Releases Final Results for Indian Forest Service Examination 2024

Based on the results of the written portion of the Indian Forest Service Examination 2024, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) from November 24 to December 1, 2024, a total of 143 candidates have been recommended for appointment to various posts in the Indian Forest Service. The interviews for the Personality Test took place from April 21 to May 2, 2025. The UPSC has also noted that some vacancies will carry over to the next recruitment year due to the non-availability of candidates.

Details of Recommended Candidates

The UPSC has recommended 143 candidates for appointment across different categories. This includes a specific mention of two current vacancies for persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD-1), which will be carried forward to the next recruitment cycle. Additionally, the results for seven candidates have been withheld, indicating that further review or clarification is needed before their status can be confirmed. The recommendations are made in accordance with the merit order established during the examination process, ensuring that qualified candidates are prioritized for appointment.

Provisional Candidature and Eligibility

Among the recommended candidates, 51 individuals have been granted provisional status. This means their appointments are contingent upon fulfilling all eligibility criteria as outlined in the examination rules. The UPSC emphasizes that appointments will be finalized based on the number of available vacancies and the successful completion of necessary verifications. The government has reported a total of vacancies, which includes nine specifically designated for PwBD candidates, categorized into three different classifications.

Information and Resources for Candidates

Candidates seeking further information regarding their examination results or recruitment status can visit the UPSC’s Facilitation Counter located near the Examination Hall Building on the commission’s campus. The counter operates on working days from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing assistance both in person and over the phone. For those unable to visit, the UPSC’s official website, www.upsc.gov.in, will also host the results and additional details. Marks for candidates will be made available on the website within 15 days following the declaration of results, ensuring transparency in the selection process.

Next Steps for Recommended Candidates

Following the announcement of the results, the next steps for the recommended candidates involve completing any outstanding eligibility verifications. The government will proceed with appointments based on the confirmed number of vacancies and the candidates’ fulfillment of all necessary requirements. This structured approach aims to ensure that the recruitment process is fair and efficient, ultimately leading to the strengthening of the Indian Forest Service with qualified personnel.
