The Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN) Umbrella Scheme is a core sector scheme that provides one-off financial assistance to poor patients living below the State/UT poverty line and suffering from life-threatening diseases related to heart, kidney , liver, cancer, etc. for treatment at any Super Specialty Government Hospital/Institution. The RAN Umbrella Scheme has three components as below:
- Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN) – Financial assistance for treatment of life-threatening diseases related to heart, kidney, liver, etc. at hospitals/government institutions equipped with Super Specialty facilities; (The maximum financial assistance is Rs. 15 lakhs)
- Minister of Health Cancer Patient Fund (HMCPF) – Financial assistance for cancer treatment at Regional Cancer Centers (RCCs)/Tertiary Care Cancer Centers (TCCCs) and State Cancer Institutes (SCIs); (The maximum financial assistance is Rs. 15 lakhs)
- Financial Assistance for Poor Rare Disease Patients – for specified rare diseases for treatment at hospitals/government institutions equipped with Super Specialty facilities; (The maximum financial assistance is Rs. 20 lakhs)

Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) provides health coverage of Rs. 5 lakh per household per year to poor and vulnerable eligible households for secondary and tertiary care admission in public and private hospitals in India.
