Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah will plant 4 Croreth sapling at CRPF Group Centre in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh on Friday, August 18, 2023

On Friday 18th August 2023, Union Home Minister & Cooperation Minister, Shri Amit Shah will plant 4 Croreth saplings at the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Group Center in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The Minister of the Interior will electronically inaugurate 15 magnificent buildings of various types in 8 different campuses of the CRPF. The massive, humane and one of a kind, Plantation Drive across the country initiative was launched by Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah on 12th July 2020.

Inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and under the guidance of Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, CAPF have collectively planted more than 3.55 crore of saplings across the nation in span of three years from 2020 to 2022. The collective target of planting 1.5 crore saplings by all central reserve police forces has been set for the year 2023, bringing the total planting of saplings to 5 crore, which will be a exemplary contribution of CAPFs to the nation’s overall environmental protection efforts. It will also be a symbol of true gratitude to Mother Earth.

A timetable was drawn up on the appropriate species to be planted in specific sectors and a key officer was appointed for the purpose. It was decided that as much as possible local species should be planted and that at least half of the total planting should be long-lived trees with a life span of 100 years or more. In addition, care has been taken to prefer medicinal and environmentally friendly trees.

In addition to remaining true to its commitment to maintaining the nation’s internal security and upholding the unity and integrity of the nation, the Central Armed Police Force reaffirms its unwavering dedication to aligning its future efforts in accordance with the protection, conservation and preservation of the environment.
