Scene 1: A Family Gathering and Grandmother’s Bold Promise
Sachin sits with his grandmother in the Deshmukh household. Today marks the wedding anniversary of Sachin and Sayali, so the family has come together. Sachin holds a small wrapped box in his hands, but he keeps it tucked away. He notices that Tejas and Renuka are eyeing the gift, curious about what he has brought for Sayali. Sachin gestures for them to stay quiet because Sayali just went into the kitchen to make tea for everyone. When Sayali returns with the tea tray, both she and Sachin bow before their elders to touch their feet. This is their way of showing respect, and everyone offers blessings in return. Still, Renuka looks a bit distant. She does not seem very pleased with the couple’s show of affection. Sachin’s grandmother, who some call Aji, smiles and says, “I want to see a few grandchildren soon. And I have an offer: whoever gives me the first great-grandson will get that piece of land in the village.” She grins, looking from Sachin to Tejas. Sachin feels shy, but nods politely.

But I want more people in our family, especially a little one I can spoil.” Sachin and Sayali exchange smiles, although neither of them commits to anything about having a child right away. Scene 2: A Chaotic Visit to Shobha’s House
After bidding farewell to the Deshmukh home, Sachin and Sayali drive to Shobha’s house. Shobha is Sayali’s relative who has insisted they come by for the anniversary. Although Sachin feels uneasy because of Dilip’s presence there, he finally agrees. He wants to keep Sayali happy on this special day. The moment they walk in, Shobha’s eyes fill with warmth. “My children are here!” she exclaims, rushing to welcome them with open arms. She places a gentle hand on Sayali’s shoulder, then offers Sachin a small hug. The house is decorated with simple streamers, showing that Shobha truly cares about their celebration. Sayali smiles with gratitude, glad to see so much effort made for her and Sachin. However, Dilip stands off to the side, his gaze set on Sachin. The two men have never gotten along. Something about their personalities clashes, leaving them both tense in each other’s company. Dilip finally speaks, “I went to the market earlier and bought a new shirt. I hope you like it.” Sachin looks confused. Then he realizes the shirt he is wearing right now—Dilip was the one who bought it. Sachin’s cheeks grow hot with anger.
He mumbles, “I don’t need anything from you,” under his breath. Shobha and Sayali notice his rising frustration. They try to calm him, but Sachin’s temper flares. He abruptly unbuttons the shirt and takes it off, tossing it aside as if it burns his hands. Shobha gasps, “Sachin, what are you doing? People are watching!” A few neighbors peek in through the open doorway, drawn by the commotion. Sachin ignores their stares. “I don’t want anything that belongs to Dilip,” he says in a sharp tone. “I can buy my own clothes.” Shobha pleads, “Stop, please. This is not the right time or place.” Sayali tries to grab his arm, reminding him of their anniversary celebration, but he shakes her off. He storms out of the house, nearly knocking over a small table by the door. Onlookers whisper among themselves, surprised by such a dramatic outburst. Many wonder why Sachin cannot let go of his anger, at least for the day. Sayali stands in the doorway, torn between running after him and apologizing to the guests. In the end, she decides she must follow her husband. She rushes out, calling his name, leaving behind a stunned Shobha and confused neighbors.
Scene 3: A Heated Argument and a Shirtless Escape
Sayali finds Sachin in the car, gripping the steering wheel in frustration. She slides into the passenger seat, her voice quivering with worry. “Why are you doing this, Sachin? We came here to celebrate. People were waiting to see us.” Sachin does not respond immediately. He starts the engine and drives away from Shobha’s house without a second glance. As they roll through the neighborhood, onlookers stare at Sachin’s bare chest. Sayali feels uneasy, and she tries again, “Please go back. This is embarrassing. Let’s talk to Dilip calmly.” Sachin shakes his head, refusing to slow down. “I don’t want to talk. Dilip always tries to control things,” he snaps. “He even bought this shirt without asking me. I won’t accept gifts from a person who thinks he can fix my life.” They continue for a while in tense silence until Sachin suddenly parks in the middle of a busy market area. Horns blare as other vehicles navigate around him. Sayali looks confused. “Why are we stopping here?” He replies, “If people have a problem with me not wearing a shirt, I’ll just buy one right now.”
Sayali’s eyes widen, but she remembers not to speak in a harsh way. She sighs, “At least put something on before going inside.” Sachin shakes his head, determined to prove he does not care what others think. He steps out of the car, shirtless, and strides into a nearby clothing store. People in the market pause to stare, some whispering or even chuckling. Sayali hurries after him, her cheeks reddening from embarrassment. Inside the store, a sales clerk is taken aback by Sachin’s appearance but manages to greet him politely. Sachin shrugs it off. “I need a shirt, something simple,” he says flatly. While the clerk rushes to find options, Sayali tugs on Sachin’s arm. “We didn’t have to make such a scene,” she whispers. “I just wanted you to keep peace at Shobha’s place.” Sachin chooses a shirt quickly. He throws it on without even checking how it fits. “There,” he says, turning to Sayali. “Now nobody can say I depended on Dilip’s money.” Despite her frustration, Sayali notices his set jaw and decides not to argue anymore, at least for now. They leave the shop, carrying the old shirt in a small bag, unsure if they should return to Shobha’s house or head back home. Their quarrel lingers in the air, unresolved.
Scene 4: Homecoming and Unspoken Tension
Sachin and Sayali finally decide to return to the Deshmukh residence instead of going back to Shobha’s place. When they step inside, Renuka is in the living room, rubbing her temples. She looks worn out from household chores. “I’m so tired,” she murmurs. “I had to finish everything myself. Sayali wasn’t here to help.” Tejas, who is passing by, sees Renuka swaying on her feet. He rushes over and hands her a glass of water. “Sit down for a moment,” he says kindly. He then glances at Roshni, who is standing in the doorway. “Maybe you can help out in the kitchen,” he suggests. But Renuka quickly interrupts, “No, no. I don’t want Roshni there right now.” Her voice is firm, leaving Tejas confused. He had hoped Roshni would ease some of Renuka’s burden. Just then, Sachin and Sayali walk through the hallway, and Renuka notices something off about them. She notices Sayali’s flushed face and Sachin’s new shirt. Roshni also picks up on the tense vibe between the couple. “Is everything okay?” Roshni asks softly, stepping closer. Sachin avoids eye contact, and Sayali’s tight grip on her handbag suggests she’s still upset.
Renuka watches the pair carefully. “Did you both have a fight?” she questions, her tone more curious than concerned. Sachin shakes his head, but the silence says otherwise. Sayali fidgets, wishing to change the subject. She offers a forced smile and replies, “We just had some errands to run. We’re fine.” Renuka and Roshni exchange glances, sensing something deeper is going on. Despite their suspicions, they decide not to push too hard for answers. Renuka is too worn out to argue, and Roshni does not feel it is her place to pry. Tejas lingers, hoping the mood will lighten, but nothing changes. Without further explanation, Sachin and Sayali head to their room. Once behind closed doors, neither speaks a word about their argument in the market. The day has been long, and both feel drained by all the drama. Outside, the household seems to settle, but a quiet unease hangs in the air. At the end of the evening, everyone senses that something unusual happened during the couple’s outing. Still, nobody knows the full story. Renuka and Roshni remain puzzled by Sachin and Sayali’s odd behavior, while Tejas wonders when the next family conflict will unfold.
