The launch of separate apps, Snacc by Swiggy and Bistro by Zomato, aims to deliver food in 10 to 15 minutes. However, many restaurant owners believe these moves threaten their businesses and violate fair competition practices. As the situation unfolds, the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) has voiced strong concerns, suggesting legal action may be on the horizon.

While Swiggy and Zomato’s existing food delivery services operate under a partnership model, the new apps represent a shift in strategy. Restaurants are not opposing the 10-minute delivery services offered within the main apps, as these still rely on their collaboration. However, the introduction of private label products changes the dynamics of the relationship. Daryani has made it clear that restaurants are willing to work with aggregators as long as they respect the boundaries of their business model. The fear is that if these companies continue to encroach on restaurant territory, it could lead to a significant decline in the restaurant industry.
