Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Expected to Feature Identical Exynos Chip

Samsung is reportedly developing the Galaxy S25 FE, the successor to last year’s Galaxy S24 FE. While the South Korean tech giant has yet to officially confirm the new model, it is anticipated to launch by late Q3 or early Q4 of 2025. A recent report indicates that the Galaxy S25 FE may feature the same Exynos chipset as its predecessor, positioning it as a more affordable alternative to the flagship Galaxy S25.

Expected Features of the Galaxy S25 FE

According to Android Authority, the Galaxy S25 FE, codenamed R13, is currently in development. This follows the naming convention used for previous models, with the Galaxy S24 FE referred to as R12 and the Galaxy S23 FE as R11. Internal documentation suggests that the upcoming device will be powered by the same Exynos 2400/2400e processor found in the Galaxy S24 FE. The specific part number associated with this chipset is S5e9945, indicating a continuation of the same technology used in last year’s model.

This decision to retain the Exynos 2400e processor means that the Galaxy S25 FE may not see a significant performance upgrade compared to its predecessor. Instead, it appears that Samsung is opting for consistency in its mid-range offerings. The Exynos 2400e is expected to be less powerful than competing chipsets, such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite and MediaTek Dimensity 9400, and may even lag behind the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Market Positioning and Pricing

The Galaxy S25 FE is likely to be positioned as a budget-friendly version of the standard Galaxy S25. This strategy aligns with Samsung’s approach to cater to a wider audience by offering a more accessible option without compromising on essential features. The anticipated launch in the second half of 2025 suggests that Samsung aims to capture consumer interest during the holiday shopping season.

For context, the Galaxy S24 FE was launched in September 2024 with a starting price of Rs. 59,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. It featured a 6.7-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, and storage options of up to 512GB. The device also included a triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 10-megapixel front camera, along with a 4,700mAh battery supporting 25W wired charging.

Additional Developments in Samsung’s Lineup

In addition to the Galaxy S25 FE, reports indicate that the Indian variant of the Galaxy M36 5G will be equipped with the Exynos 1380 processor, the same chipset used in the existing Galaxy M35 5G. This move suggests that Samsung is focusing on maintaining a consistent performance level across its mid-range devices, ensuring that users receive reliable technology without significant price increases.

As Samsung continues to innovate and expand its smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S25 FE is expected to play a crucial role in appealing to budget-conscious consumers. By leveraging existing technology and offering competitive pricing, Samsung aims to strengthen its position in the highly competitive smartphone market.
