Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ Set for Major Release

As Eid 2025 approaches, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of his upcoming film, Sikandar. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by AR Murugadoss, this film is expected to make waves at the box office. Recent reports reveal intriguing details about the film’s financials, including its impressive budget and revenue projections.

Financial Overview of ‘Sikandar’

Industry insiders indicate that Sikandar has been produced with a budget of approximately Rs. 180 crores. This figure accounts for the directorial fees of AR Murugadoss and the acting fees of the supporting cast, excluding Salman Khan. Additionally, the production team has allocated Rs. 20 crores for print and publicity, bringing the total production cost to Rs. 200 crores. The collaboration between Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala has attracted significant interest from satellite, digital, and music distributors, resulting in a lucrative deal that has already generated around Rs. 150 crores from non-theatrical revenue streams.

The digital revenue alone stands at Rs. 85 crores, with the potential to reach Rs. 100 crores depending on the film’s box office performance. The satellite rights have been sold for Rs. 40 crores, while music rights fetched Rs. 20 crores, which includes promotional elements. Notably, Salman Khan is set to receive the digital revenues as part of his acting fees, positioning him to earn a remarkable Rs. 100 crores. This amount marks one of the largest upfront paychecks for an actor in the current industry landscape, where many actors are being asked to lower their fees.

Budget Adjustments and Production Challenges

Initially, the budget for Sikandar was projected at Rs. 400 crores, which included Salman Khan’s remuneration. However, due to security concerns, international and outdoor shooting schedules were canceled, necessitating changes to the script and a reduction in the overall budget by approximately Rs. 100 crores. This adjustment reflects the challenges faced by filmmakers in navigating external circumstances while maintaining production quality.

The theatrical rights for Sikandar have been secured by Pen Marudhar, which has already provided an advance payment to producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Currently, the film appears to be a sound investment, with expectations to achieve a box office collection of Rs. 200 crores in India and USD 10 million internationally. Meeting these targets would not only cover Salman Khan’s fees but also ensure profitability for the producer.

Anticipation Builds for ‘Sikandar’

As the release date approaches, excitement is building around Sikandar. The film promises to deliver a thrilling experience, and its marketing campaign is already generating buzz. Fans are particularly eager to see the final song, which features an impressive ensemble of 500 dancers from Turkey. With a strong production team and a star-studded cast, Sikandar is poised to be a significant player in the 2025 Bollywood landscape.
