Salman Khan, the renowned Bollywood actor, has recently revealed the true reason behind the enclosure of his iconic balcony at Galaxy Apartments with bulletproof glass. While many fans speculated that the decision stemmed from security threats against him, Khan clarified that it was primarily due to fans climbing up and sleeping on the balcony in hopes of meeting him. However, the enclosure of this space with bulletproof glass in January raised eyebrows among his followers. Initially, many believed the move was a precaution against the numerous threats Khan had been receiving, particularly from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In a candid interview with Bollywood Bubble, Khan explained that the real issue was fans attempting to access his balcony, leading to situations where he found individuals sleeping there. This prompted him to prioritize the safety of both his fans and his family by enclosing the balcony.
Incidents of Violence
The safety concerns surrounding Salman Khan escalated significantly following a shooting incident outside his residence in April 2024. Gunshots were fired in the vicinity of Galaxy Apartments, with reports suggesting the involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of the jailed gangster, took to Facebook to claim responsibility for the attack. This incident was part of a series of threats that Khan faced, including a chilling message sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police, demanding a ransom of Rs. 5 crores for his “forgiveness.” The message ominously warned that failure to comply would result in dire consequences for the actor.
Enhanced Security Measures
In light of these threats, Salman Khan’s security protocols have been significantly upgraded. Following the shooting incident, he acquired a bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV worth approximately Rs. 2 crores, which was imported from Dubai. Additionally, security measures around the sets of his show, Bigg Boss 18, have been fortified. Reports indicate that Khan’s security team has expanded, now including an additional eight to ten armed officers. Furthermore, the Mumbai Police have established a special command center at his residence to ensure his safety.
Future Projects Amidst Challenges
Despite the ongoing security challenges, Salman Khan remains focused on his career. He is set to begin filming for the highly anticipated project “Battle of Galwan” in August. The production will involve a studio shoot followed by an intense schedule in Ladakh.
