An Other Class Backward Commission was appointed to look into the sub-categorization of Other Backward Classes with Justice G Rohini, Retd. Chief Justice, Delhi High Court as presiding judge, notification dated 2na October 2017.
The Commission had been entrusted with the task of studying the various entries in the Central List of OBCs and recommending the correction of any repetitions, ambiguities, inconsistencies and spelling or transcription errors; examine the extent of the unequal distribution of reserve benefits among CBs; and develop the mechanism, criteria, norms and parameters, in a scientific approach, for subcategorization within such CBOs.
The Commission presented its report today to the Honorable President of India on the 31stst July 2023.
