The Department of Fisheries (DoF) is getting ready to celebrate World Fisheries Day (WFD) on 21st November 2024. This special day is all about recognizing the hard work and important role of fisherfolk and fish farmers in the growth of the Fisheries sector. Since 2014, the Department of Fisheries has been celebrating 21st November as World Fisheries Day.
Exciting Event Details
This year’s theme for World Fisheries Day 2024 is “Indiaโs Blue Transformation: Strengthening Small-Scale and Sustainable Fisheries.” The event will take place at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi, and will be attended by important people like the Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, and other dignitaries.

The event will bring together Senior Government Officials, Ambassadors, Fisheries Communities, Researchers, and many more.
