Public Grievances Surge in March 2025

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has unveiled its 32nd monthly report on the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) for March 2025. The report reveals that a total of 59,523 grievances were resolved by various States and Union Territories (UTs) by March 28, 2025. However, the backlog remains significant, with 190,976 grievances still pending on the CPGRAMS portal.
Grievance Resolution Statistics
According to the latest report, from March 1 to March 28, 2025, States and UTs received 59,271 public grievances. The resolution rate improved, with 59,523 cases addressed during the same period. This marks a notable increase from February 2025, when only 50,088 grievances were resolved. The report highlights the effectiveness of the grievance redressal system, showcasing a growing commitment to addressing public concerns.
Uttar Pradesh emerged as the state with the highest number of grievances, accounting for 22,369 cases. In March alone, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra led in grievance disposal, resolving 21,113 and 3,785 cases, respectively. The report indicates that 16 States and UTs managed to resolve over 1,000 grievances during the month, reflecting a concerted effort to tackle public issues.
User Engagement on CPGRAMS
The report also sheds light on user engagement with the CPGRAMS portal. By March 28, 2025, a total of 49,912 new users registered on the platform, with Uttar Pradesh contributing the highest number of registrations at 7,602. This surge in user engagement suggests that citizens are increasingly utilizing the platform to voice their concerns and seek resolutions.
Additionally, the integration of CPGRAMS with the Common Service Centre (CSC) portal has expanded its reach. As of March 28, 2025, grievances filed through CSCs totaled 7,150, with Uttar Pradesh again leading at 2,073 grievances, followed by Punjab with 1,409. This collaboration with over 5 lakh CSCs and 2.5 lakh Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) enhances accessibility for citizens seeking to register their grievances.
Pending Grievances and Future Outlook
Despite the progress in grievance resolution, the report highlights a concerning backlog. As of March 28, 2025, 23 States and UTs reported over 1,000 pending grievances, contributing to a total of 190,976 unresolved cases across the country. This backlog underscores the ongoing challenges faced by the grievance redressal system and the need for continued improvements.
The report also includes updates on the Sevottam Scheme, which has seen the completion of 811 training courses over the past three financial years, training approximately 26,941 officers. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of public service delivery, ultimately benefiting citizens seeking redress for their grievances.
