Project Agreements under PACE Programme

The Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR) has launched the PACE program, which aims to promote collaborative research between Indian industries and R&D organizations, academic institutions, or universities. The program focuses on fostering innovation and supporting the development of new technologies that address unmet industrial needs and can be commercialized. Proposals targeting specific industrial sectors with practical applications are strongly encouraged, and projects demonstrating proof-of-concept are supported. The program has a duration of 1 to 3 years.

Under the PACE program, DSIR has signed two separate Tripartite Agreements with M/s. Devashish Polymers Private Ltd. (DPPL) from Mumbai and M/s. GPS Renewables Pvt Ltd. from Bangalore and Agarkar Research Institute (ARI) from Pune. These agreements aim to facilitate collaborative projects that address significant industrial challenges.

M/s. Devashish Polymers Private Ltd. (DPPL) from Mumbai aims to develop compounded elastomers and evaluate their performance for various applications. On the other hand, M/s. GPS Renewables Pvt. Ltd. from Bangalore, in collaboration with Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) from Pune, seeks to scale up and conduct pilot trials for enhanced microbial methane production from agricultural residues using anaerobic fungi.

The agreement signing ceremony was attended by Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Secretary, DSIR & Director General, CSIR, along with other dignitaries from DSIR, NRDC, and the participating organizations. Dr. Kalaiselvi emphasized the importance of the PACE program in fostering innovation and collaborative research. She congratulated the organizations for undertaking projects that address pressing national challenges and contribute to India’s development goals. Dr. Vipin Chandra Shukla, Scientist-G, & Head PACE, highlighted DSIR’s commitment to nurturing ideas that lead to impactful solutions and drive sustainable industrial growth and technological self-reliance for India.

Representatives from M/s. Devashish Polymers Private Ltd. (DPPL) and M/s. GPS Renewables Pvt. Ltd. praised the PACE program for fostering industry-academia partnerships and driving innovation. They commended the initiative for accelerating innovation and strengthening India’s technological and economic landscape.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. M.S. Shashi Kumar, Scientist-E and Member Secretary, PACE program.

These agreements mark an important milestone in the PACE program, bringing together industry, academia, and research institutions to collaborate on innovative projects. The program aims to create sustainable solutions and drive the nation’s progress in science, technology, and societal impact.
