PRESIDENT OF INDIA VIRTUALLY LAUNCHES AYUSHMAN BHAV CAMPAIGN

President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu virtually launched Ayushman Bhav campaign today (13 September 2023) from Raj Bhavan, Gandhinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the President said that the objective of the Ayushman Bhav campaign – no person should be left behind and no village should be left behind – would enable our country to successfully achieve the goal of universal health coverage. He added that if every person and every family remained healthy, then the purpose of building a healthy India would be fulfilled. She was pleased to note that a multi-ministerial approach was taken to achieve this. You stated that everyone’s collaboration would be useful to achieve such great goals.

The President said that providing Ayushman cards to all beneficiaries; organize Ayushman meetings to raise awareness among villagers on health, hygiene and nutrition; organize Ayushman Melas; and arranging visits by specialist doctors to Community Health Centers once a week under the Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0 initiative, are laudable steps.

The President said that India is moving forward with great enthusiasm in adopting new technologies and working methods in many fields. She was happy to note that the ‘Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’ was launched in September 2021. He expressed confidence that India will set an example of digital inclusion in the field of healthcare services as well as other sectors.

The Ayushman Bhav campaign is a nationwide comprehensive health initiative of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare which aims to provide total coverage of health services, reaching every village and city in the country. This campaign will be implemented during ‘Seva Pakhwada’ from September 17 to October 2, 2023.
