President Murmu Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with Students at Rashtrapati Bhavan

The Honโ€™ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan today with children and students from various schools across the country at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The event was graced by the presence of Union Minister for Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State for Education and Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, and Shri Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL), along with other officials from the Ministry of Education.

The gathering was marked by a special interaction between President Murmu and the students, where she highlighted the broader significance of Raksha Bandhan. She emphasized that the festival is not only a celebration between brothers and sisters but also a symbol of the bond shared with soldiers, parents, and friends. This message resonated deeply with the students, especially Priyansha Pradhan from Sambalpur, Odisha, who expressed her inspiration from the Presidentโ€™s words.

Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, in his address, expressed his gratitude to President Murmu for her guidance and for making the festival memorable for the students. He later engaged in an informal conversation with the students, taking a keen interest in their aspirations and goals.

One of the teachers from Arunachal Pradesh shared her admiration for the President, noting how her simplicity and warmth had a lasting impact on the attendees.

Over 180 students from government schools across 16 states were privileged to meet the President. The students were also guided to a guided tour of the Amrit Udyaan, a historic garden within Rashtrapati Bhavan, showcasing India’s rich architectural and horticultural heritage. This unique experience left the students with a deep pride and appreciation for the nationโ€™s cultural traditions.

The celebration at Rashtrapati Bhavan today was not only a reflection of the diverse cultural fabric of India but also an opportunity for young minds to connect with the country’s leadership and heritage.
