PM to flag off Goa’s first Vande Bharat Express on 3rd June

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will wave Goa’s first Vande Bharat Express from Madgaon Railway Station, June 3 at 10:30am via video conference.

Realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Make in India’ and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the state-of-the-art Vande Bharat Express will enhance connectivity on the Mumbai – Goa route and provide the people of the region with the means to travel with speed and comfort. The train will be the 19th Vande Bharat train to run in the country.

The train will run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai and Madgaon Station in Goa. It will cover the journey in around seven and a half hours, which will help save around one hour of travel, compared to the current faster train linking the two places.

The locally-made train, featuring world-class amenities and advanced safety features including KAVACH technology, will also boost tourism in both states.
