PM Modi to Launch Patna-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express Train

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate four new Amrit Bharat Express trains in Bihar on July 18, marking a significant enhancement in rail infrastructure and regional connectivity. This initiative aims to provide modern and affordable travel options for passengers, particularly benefiting those in Bihar and eastern India. During his visit, PM Modi will also launch various development projects worth over โน7,200 crore in Motihari, furthering the government’s commitment to improving transportation and infrastructure in the region.
Details of the New Train Services
The newly introduced Amrit Bharat Express trains will operate on several key routes, including Rajendra Nagar Terminal in Patna to New Delhi, Bapudham Motihari to Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi, Darbhanga to Gomti Nagar in Lucknow, and Malda Town to Gomti Nagar in Lucknow via Bhagalpur. The inaugural run of the special Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Rajendra Nagar Terminal at 11:45 AM on July 18, arriving in New Delhi at 4:00 PM the following day. A return service will leave New Delhi at 6:00 PM on July 19, reaching Patna at 11:45 PM the next night. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize the Indian Railways and enhance passenger experience.
Regular Service Schedule and Stops
The PatnaโNew Delhi Amrit Bharat Express (Train No. 22361/22362) is scheduled to commence regular daily service from July 31, 2025. Train No. 22361 will depart from Rajendra Nagar Terminal at 7:45 PM daily, arriving in New Delhi at 1:10 PM the next day. The return service, Train No. 22362, will start from New Delhi at 7:10 PM from August 1, reaching Patna at 11:45 AM the following day. The train will make several stops along the route, including Patna, Danapur, Ara, Buxar, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Dubedarganj, Govindpuri, and Ghaziabad, ensuring accessibility for passengers across these regions.
Fare Structure and Amenities
According to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the fare for the Sleeper Class on the PatnaโNew Delhi route will be โน560, which is slightly higher than the โน520 charged by most existing trains on this route. Officials have indicated that the fare increase reflects the enhanced amenities and smoother ride quality offered by the Amrit Bharat Express. The train will feature eight Sleeper Class coaches, eleven General coaches, two luggage-cum-brake vans, and one pantry car, ensuring a comfortable travel experience for all passengers.
Expansion of Amrit Bharat Express Services
The introduction of the PatnaโNew Delhi route marks the first Amrit Bharat train on this specific path and the fourth such service in India. Previous Amrit Bharat routes include the DarbhangaโAnand Vihar Terminal and Malda TownโSMVT Bengaluru services. On July 18, PM Modi will also flag off trains on additional routes, including Bapudham Motihari to Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi, Darbhanga to Gomti Nagar in Lucknow, and Malda Town to Gomti Nagar in Lucknow via Bhagalpur.
