One District One Product

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has notified 137 unique products from 713 districts in 35 states/UTs as One District One Product (ODOP) based on the recommendations of the states/UTs and in consultation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

15 unique products from all 24 districts of Jharkhand have been notified by MoFPI as ODOP. These are Peda, Honey, Jaggery, Tomato Products, Chili Products, Lime Products, Mango Products, Guava Products, Custard Apple Products, Jackfruit Products, Potato Products, Papaya Products and Lesser Forest Products (Tamarind, Mahua, Chironjee).

ODOPs are selected based on agricultural production, presence of food processing micro-enterprises, SHG/FPO/cooperatives/micro-enterprises engaged in ODOP processing, etc.

MoFPI is extending the credit-linked grant to the affected individual/institution for upgrading existing facilities or setting up new micro-food processing plants, in accordance with the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) program guidelines. Establishment of joint infrastructure projects by FPO/SHG/Cooperative/Govt. Entity; Seed Capital to SHG Members; Marketing & Branding projects for ODOP; and capacity building through training institutes are also supported under the PMFME program guidelines.
