New Partnerships Strengthen India’s Drug-Free Vision
The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment is enhancing its collaboration with spiritual organizations as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA), with the goal of fostering a drug-free India. This initiative acknowledges the significant influence of spiritual entities in steering communities towards a healthier lifestyle and instilling core values. The Ministry aims to unite these organizations to bolster outreach programs and raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse.
Tomorrow, the Ministry will formalize agreements with several prominent spiritual institutions, including Adhyatm Vigyan Satsang Kendra, Chinmaya Mission, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, and the Hare Krishna Movement. The signing ceremony, taking place at the Ministry’s headquarters in the National Capital, will be attended by Shri Sudhansh Pant, Secretary of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, alongside senior officials and esteemed spiritual leaders.
Previously, the Ministry has entered into partnerships with various organizations such as The Art of Living, Brahma Kumaris, Sant Nirankari Mission, ISKCON, Shri Ram Chandra Mission, All World Gayatri Pariwar, Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram, and the University of Patanjali. These collaborations have been pivotal in launching mass-awareness campaigns, mobilizing volunteers, and facilitating the inclusion of yoga, meditation, and spiritual counseling in de-addiction efforts.
The involvement of these spiritual organizations significantly contributes to providing moral guidance, fostering community resilience, and mobilizing grassroots efforts. By aligning spiritual strength with social activism, the NMBA strives to ensure that the message of prevention and recovery reaches various sections of society effectively.
Additionally, the Ministry anticipates that these partnerships will strengthen the collective commitment and comprehensive approach necessary to achieve the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat. This initiative is a crucial step toward fostering a healthier, stronger, and more resilient nation as India progresses toward becoming a Viksit Bharat.
