New Link Connects Delhi to Jaipur in 2.5 Hours

Starting in June, travelers will enjoy a faster and more convenient route from Delhi to Jaipur, thanks to a new connection from Bandikui on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway to the Jaipur Ring Road. This development will allow for a non-stop journey of just two-and-a-half hours, reducing the distance between the two cities by 20 kilometers. Additionally, commuters will benefit from the upcoming DND Flyway-KMP interchange, which is set to enhance travel efficiency further by December.
Improved Travel Times
The new connection from Bandikui to the Jaipur Ring Road is a significant upgrade for those traveling between Delhi and Jaipur. Currently, travelers must exit the Delhi-Mumbai expressway at Dausa and navigate through NH-21, a four-lane highway that passes through towns and villages. This route limits vehicles to a maximum speed of 100 km/h, making the journey longer than necessary. With the new access-controlled highway, which spans 67 kilometers, motorists will experience uninterrupted travel once it becomes operational. This improvement is expected to streamline traffic flow and reduce travel times significantly.
Upcoming Infrastructure Developments
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has confirmed that the first nine-kilometer section of the DND Flyway-KMP interchange will begin operations by December. This interchange will provide seamless access for travelers from Ghaziabad, Noida, and east Delhi to Jaipur. The entire stretch from the DND Flyway to Jaipur via the Bandikui link will take just two-and-a-half hours to traverse. NHAI officials have indicated that the new connection was integrated into the Delhi-Mumbai expressway project due to the increasing traffic demand toward Jaipur.
Safety and Maintenance Measures
NHAI Chairman Santosh Yadav has emphasized the importance of safety and thorough inspections before the new highways are opened to traffic. He has instructed officials to exercise caution when issuing provisional certificates for traffic allowance. During a recent summit, Yadav highlighted the need for multiple drive-throughs by field officers and authority engineers to ensure the roads are fully prepared for operation. This proactive approach aims to prevent issues such as potholes that have plagued previous projects, especially during monsoon seasons.
Future Prospects
As the new connection and interchange projects progress, the NHAI is committed to completing preventive maintenance ahead of schedule. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance road safety and ensure a smooth travel experience for commuters. With these developments, the journey between Delhi and Jaipur is set to become not only faster but also more reliable, catering to the growing number of travelers between these two major cities.
