NESTS Partners with Tata Motors and Ex-Navodayan Foundation

National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS), under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, has forged a significant partnership with Tata Motors Limited (TML) and the Ex-Navodayan Foundation (ENF). This collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 9, 2025, aims to enhance the educational prospects of tribal youth by providing comprehensive coaching for the IIT-JEE and NEET examinations. The initiative is set to empower students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) and is expected to benefit over 138,000 students across India.

Details of the MoU

The MoU is a five-year agreement that will commence in the academic year 2025-26. It aims to bridge the educational gap for tribal students, enhancing their participation in national-level entrance exams. The initiative is designed to foster confidence among students and create a sustainable talent pipeline from tribal communities, contributing to nation-building efforts. The program is expected to significantly impact the educational landscape for tribal youth, providing them with the necessary tools to succeed in competitive examinations.

Coaching Initiatives and Centers of Excellence

As part of this initiative, a residential Centre of Excellence (CoE) program will be established, offering intensive coaching for meritorious Grade XI and XII Science students selected from EMRSs. The initial centers will be located in Chankapur, Maharashtra, and Chintapalle, Andhra Pradesh, with plans for future expansion based on performance. This program will deliver high-quality test preparation through virtual platforms to all digitally equipped EMRSs, catering to students in Grades XI and XII. Additionally, it will provide conceptual clarity classes for Grades IX and X, focusing on preparation for Olympiad, NTSE, and KVPY examinations.

Impact on Tribal Education

This tripartite partnership represents a pivotal moment in the advancement of tribal education in India. By unlocking the potential of EMRS students, the collaboration aims to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in national competitive examinations. This initiative not only supports the personal growth of tribal students but also contributes to the broader development of the nation. The collaboration underscores the commitment of NESTS, TML, and ENF to enhance educational opportunities for tribal youth, ensuring they have access to quality coaching and resources.
