Nationwide Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign Reports Progress

The Department of Financial Services (DFS) under the Ministry of Finance has initiated a comprehensive three-month campaign aimed at enhancing the outreach of key financial schemes across India. Running from July 1 to September 30, 2025, this initiative focuses on promoting flagship programs such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and the Atal Pension Yojana (APY). The campaign aims to ensure that every eligible citizen can access the benefits of these transformative schemes, with a particular emphasis on reaching all Gram Panchayats (GPs) and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

Campaign Progress and Activities

Since its launch, the campaign has made significant strides in promoting financial inclusion. In just two weeks, a total of 43,447 camps have been organized across various districts to facilitate beneficiary enrollment and enhance financial literacy. Reports have been compiled for 31,305 of these camps, showcasing the campaign’s effectiveness in reaching out to communities. The activities conducted at these camps include account openings, KYC re-verification, and updates of nomination details, all aimed at ensuring that citizens can fully utilize the financial services available to them.

The campaign has successfully opened 139,291 new PMJDY accounts, while also re-verifying KYC details for 96,383 PMJDY accounts and 101,778 other savings accounts. Additionally, it has updated nomination details for 66,494 PMJDY accounts and 63,489 other accounts. These efforts are crucial in maintaining the integrity and accessibility of financial services for all citizens.

Enrollment in Social Security Schemes

A key focus of the campaign is the enrollment of citizens in various social security schemes. The initiative has seen impressive numbers, with 183,225 individuals enrolling in the PMJJBY, 288,714 in the PMSBY, and 67,668 in the APY. Furthermore, the campaign has successfully settled 1,665 claims under the PMJJBY and PMSBY, demonstrating its commitment to providing financial security to the populace.

In addition to enrollment, the campaign emphasizes financial literacy. Programs are being conducted to raise awareness about digital fraud, access to unclaimed deposits, and available grievance redressal mechanisms. These educational efforts are essential for empowering citizens to navigate the financial landscape confidently and securely.

Future Goals and Commitment to Financial Inclusion

The campaign is set to continue until September 30, 2025, with plans to cover approximately 2.70 lakh GPs and ULBs. This extensive outreach reflects the government’s dedication to achieving last-mile financial empowerment and enhancing socio-economic inclusion through access to formal financial services. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to ensure that economically and socially marginalized communities gain equitable access to banking and financial services.

The Government of India’s Financial Inclusion initiatives are pivotal in integrating unbanked individuals into the mainstream banking system. By facilitating access to formal financial services, these initiatives aim to foster inclusive and sustainable economic development, ultimately benefiting the entire nation.
