National Zoological Park celebrates the first birthday of white tigress SITA's twin cubs, Avni and Vyom
The National Zoological Park today joyfully celebrated the first birthday of adorable white tiger SITA’s twin cubs, Avni and Vyom. The occasion was attended by Shri Chandra Prakash Goyal, DG & SS, MoEFCC as a key guest and Dr. SK Shukla Member Secretary of the Zoo Central Authority as a special guest. The highlight of the celebration was the cake-cutting ceremony, which symbolized the arrival of the puppies and importance for connecting citizens with wildlife.
Students from grades 11 were invited to join the festivities. The event provided a unique educational opportunity for students to learn about tigers and their vital role in biodiversity conservation.
The National Zoological Park has demonstrated its commitment to environmental sustainability by giving each student attending a sapling. This gesture was aimed not only at expressing gratitude for their participation, but also at instilling in future generations a sense of responsibility for the environment.
Avni and Vyom’s first birthday celebration is testament to the zoo’s commitment to promoting harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
Currently, the National Zoological Park has 12 tigers of 02 varieties, and among them there are 7 normal color Royal Bengal tigers (Panthera tigris tigris) and 5 White Tigers (Panthera tigris tigris color_mutation ).
