Ms. Sumita Dawra Chairs a Review Meeting: Enhancing Healthcare Services for India’s Workforce

A significant review meeting was held today in Udaipur to evaluate the service delivery and infrastructure development of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). The meeting was chaired by Ms. Sumita Dawra, Secretary of Labour and Employment. It aimed to align with the vision of Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Labour and Employment, to enhance medical services for the nation’s workforce. Shri Ashok Kumar Singh, the Director General of ESIC, shared recent initiatives aimed at improving the organization’s services. Modernizing IT systems can streamline operations and improve patient care, making it easier for workers to access the services they need.

Additionally, Dr. M. Srinivas, the Director of AIIMS, presented best practices from AIIMS, one of India’s leading medical institutions. He emphasized the importance of adopting these practices to enhance healthcare services, especially for large-scale organizations like ESIC. Dr. Srinivas proposed a collaboration between AIIMS and ESIC, suggesting that a strategic partnership could leverage the strengths of both organizations. This collaboration could significantly improve healthcare delivery for the workforce, combining AIIMS’s high standards of care with ESIC’s extensive medical network.

The meeting also featured a lecture by Prof. Kunal Kumar from IIM Udaipur, who discussed effective management tools and mechanisms for head offices.
