Monthly Review of Accounts of Union Government of India upto the month of July, 2023 for the Financial Year 2023-24
The monthly account of the Union Government of India up to the month of July 2023 has been consolidated and the reports have been published. The highlights are given below:-
Government of India has received โน7,75,107 crore (28.5% of corresponding BE 2023-24 total revenue) till July 2023, out of which โน5,82,585 crore is tax revenue (excluding centre), โน1, 78,804 crore of non-tax revenue and โน13,718 crore of non-debt capital revenue. Non-debt capital receipts consist of loan recovery of โน8,253 crore and miscellaneous capital receipts of โน5,465 crore.
โน3,09,521 crore was transferred to the state governments as a devolution of the share of taxes by the Government of India till this period which is โน1,08,413 crore more than the previous year.
The total expenditure incurred by the Government of India is โน13,80,700 crore (30.7% of corresponding BE 23-24), of which โน10,63,621 crore is on the revenue account and โน3,17,079 crore is on the capital account. Of the total revenue expenditure, โน2,99,889 crore is due to interest payments and โน1,40,996 crore is due to major subsidies.
