Ministry of Food Processing Industries to Organize 4th Edition of Event

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) in India is gearing up for the fourth edition of ‘World Food India,’ which will take place from September 25 to 28, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. A curtain-raiser event was held today at The Lalit, New Delhi, where Union Minister Shri Chirag Paswan unveiled promotional materials, including a brochure, website, and mobile app for the upcoming mega food event. This edition is expected to be the largest yet, with participation from over 90 countries and thousands of stakeholders in the food value chain.

Significance of World Food India

Shri Chirag Paswan emphasized that World Food India is more than just a trade show; it is a transformative platform aimed at establishing India as a global leader in food innovation, investment, and sustainability. He expressed gratitude to all ministries, industries, and stakeholders for their contributions to the success of the previous edition. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the event aims to showcase India’s commitment to creating sustainable and inclusive food systems. Paswan stated that the upcoming edition will feature over 2,000 exhibitors and attract tens of thousands of participants, highlighting the event’s potential to foster collaboration and innovation in the food processing sector.

Key Features of the Upcoming Event

During the curtain-raiser, Shri Avinash Joshi, Secretary of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, underscored the sector’s vital role in contributing to the Gross Value Addition (GVA) and its leadership in processing key agricultural products like milk, millets, and pulses. He announced various initiatives for World Food India 2025, including thematic technology showcases, buyer-seller meetings, and CEO round tables. These activities are designed to promote global collaboration and investment in the food processing industry. The Ministry is optimistic about receiving strong participation from stakeholders to ensure that this edition surpasses the impact of previous events.

Launch of Promotional Materials

The event also featured a comprehensive presentation outlining the key themes for World Food India 2025. Significant milestones included the release of the event brochure, the launch of the official website and mobile application, and the unveiling of a promotional video that highlights India’s achievements and aspirations in agri-processing. These initiatives aim to communicate the vision and agenda for the upcoming summit, which aligns with India’s broader goals of enhancing food security, sustainability, and innovation.

Collaboration and Participation

FICCI has been designated as the national event partner, while Ernst & Young LLP will serve as the knowledge partner for World Food India. Both organizations will engage with relevant stakeholders to support the Ministry of Food Processing Industries in executing the event. The curtain-raiser attracted a diverse audience, including representatives from various Central Ministries, State officials, and embassy representatives, all of whom are expected to play a crucial role in the success of World Food India 2025. The event aims to align with the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat and India’s development objectives for 2047, aspiring to attract unprecedented global investment and drive technological advancements in the food sector.
