“MERI MAATI MERA DESH CAMPAIGN”

To commemorate 75 years of independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) is celebrated as a people-led initiative. Government of India has launched the “Meri Maati Mera Desh Compaign” as a continuation for the celebration of AKAM. Various activities in line with the theme were conducted at various Air Force stations in and around Delhi from 9 to 15 August 2023. An Amrit Vatika it has been developed in all these stations by planting 75 saplings of indigenous species to replenish mother earth as ‘Vasudha Vandhan’. “Panch Pran” commitment was also taken by all those present

At Arjangarh Air Force Station, the ‘Amrit Vatika’ was developed at Baba Mangal Das Park, Ayanagar. Mr. Ved Pal (counsellor and Nagar Adhyaksha) assisted the station authorities in running the event smoothly.

In Bowapur, a village near the Hindan Air Force Station, an “Amrit Vatika” was developed around “Amrit Sarovar”. Mr. Prabhat Kumar, Joint Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan assisted the station authorities in making the event a success.

Palam Air Force Station he hosted the event at the Indo Korean Friendship Park near the station. The campaign was organized in collaboration with Sunil Kataria, Delhi Cantonal Council. Our nation’s freedom fighters were honored as part of “Veeron ka Vandan” on August 15, 2023. Retired personnel from the three services, the Central Police and the State Police participated in the congratulatory programme.

The wholehearted participation of the respective station personnel, school children, locality residents and panchayats made the events a great success.
