MediaTek Launches Dimensity 9400e, Set to Feature on Realme GT 7

MediaTek has officially launched its latest mobile chipset, the Dimensity 9400e, in China, positioning it as a competitor to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. This new chipset boasts an advanced All Big Core CPU architecture, featuring four Cortex-X4 cores that can reach speeds of 3.4GHz, alongside a powerful 12-core Immortalis-G720 GPU that supports hardware ray tracing. Additionally, the Dimensity 9400e is designed to facilitate on-device processing for large language models and includes support for cutting-edge connectivity options like Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.

Availability of the Dimensity 9400e

The MediaTek Dimensity 9400e is set to make its debut in smartphones within the next few weeks. Realme and OnePlus are among the first manufacturers to incorporate this chipset into their devices. The Realme GT 7 is scheduled to launch in India on May 27, while the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition will be introduced in China around the same time. These launches mark a significant step for both companies as they aim to leverage the advanced capabilities of the Dimensity 9400e to enhance user experience.

Specifications of the Dimensity 9400e

Built using TSMC’s third-generation 4nm process technology, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e features a robust All Big Core CPU architecture. It includes four Arm Cortex-X4 cores with a peak clock speed of 3.4GHz, complemented by four Cortex-A720 big cores operating at 2GHz. The chipset is equipped with a 12-core Immortalis-G720 GPU, which enables hardware-level mobile ray tracing, enhancing graphics performance in mobile applications and games.

Moreover, the Dimensity 9400e integrates a MediaTek APU 790, which supports generative AI features on smartphones and other mobile devices. This chipset can handle on-device processing for various large language models, including DeepSeek-R1-Distill and Gemini Nano, among others. The combination of these features positions the Dimensity 9400e as a powerful option for developers and users alike.

Connectivity and Camera Capabilities

Smartphones powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e will offer extensive connectivity options, including support for Wi-Fi 7, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, and NavIC. This chipset can support a rear camera with a resolution of up to 320 megapixels and allows for video recording capabilities of up to 8K at 30 frames per second or 4K at 60 frames per second. MediaTek has highlighted that the Bluetooth connectivity enabled by this chipset can reach up to 5 kilometers in distance, provided there is a clear line of sight, making it a versatile choice for various mobile applications.
