Maj Gen Amita Rani assumes the charge of Addl DG, MNS

On 1 August 2023 Maj. Gen. Amita Rani assumed the appointment of Director General of the Addl, Military Nursery Service (MNS). The general officer is an alumnus of the College of Nursing, Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi. Prior to assuming his current role, he held the position of Brig MNS, HQ (NC).

The general officer was commissioned into the Military Nursing Service in the year 1983. He has completed short-term courses in quality control, infection control and prevention management, Six Sigma Green Belt in healthcare, among others, and a certificate course postgraduate in Hospital and Quality Management of the National Health Care Academy based in Singapore. As an able administrator, he held key posts such as DPM CH (EC) Kolkata, Principal Matron at 154 GH, MH Jalandhar, MH Allahabad and Air Force Command Hospital, Bangalore.
