L&T Secures Key Contract for Hyderabad’s Greenfield Radial Road Project
In a significant boost to urban infrastructure, L&T’s Transportation Infrastructure division has successfully secured a substantial contract for the Hyderabad Greenfield Radial Road project. This initiative represents a critical step forward in improving regional connectivity and enhancing access to major economic hubs in and around Hyderabad.
About the Project
The awarded project specifically involves the construction of Phase-2 of the Greenfield Radial Road, encompassing a 22.3 km stretch designed as a three-lane access-controlled radial road in Ranga Reddy district. The ambitious initiative aims to streamline transportation and ease traffic congestion by connecting key areas in the region.
L&T’s Scope of Work
L&T’s responsibilities within this project include the development of a 3.6 km viaduct, the installation of minor bridges, underpasses, and culverts, as well as the construction of service roads. Additionally, the company will be implementing extensive retention structures and a comprehensive stormwater drainage system. The development will also feature pedestrian pathways, a dedicated cycle track, and landscaping efforts to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the thoroughfare.
Impact on Regional Development
This radial road is pivotal as it forms the first of several planned corridors that will connect Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road to the forthcoming Regional Ring Road, thereby bolstering the area’s infrastructural framework. The completion of this project is expected to significantly improve access to major IT hubs, the flourishing Electronic City, Young India Skills University, and the Bharat Future City, fostering regional economic growth and facilitating smoother transportation for commuters.
