Leaked Hands-on Video Reveals iPhone 17 Air Features

Apple is reportedly developing the iPhone 17 Air, which is anticipated to be the company’s thinnest iPhone yet. This new model is expected to replace the iPhone 16 Plus and make its debut in September alongside the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Recent leaks, including a dummy video, have provided a glimpse into the design of the iPhone 17 series, highlighting the slim profile of the iPhone 17 Air and its single rear camera.

Design Features of the iPhone 17 Series

In a recent eight-minute YouTube video, AppleTrack’s Sam Kohl showcased dummy units of the upcoming iPhone 17 series. The video outlines the rumored specifications and design elements of the iPhone 17 lineup, drawing from various leaks and reports. The iPhone 17 Air stands out with its sleek design and a single rear camera positioned in the top left corner. Compared to the iPhone 16 Pro, the new model appears to be nearly half as thick while still featuring a sizable 6.6-inch display.

Kohl also noted that the iPhone 17 Air is equipped with thin buttons and a Camera Control feature similar to that of last year’s iPhone 16 Pro models. The dummy units reveal an off-center USB Type-C port, which is positioned closer to the back of the device than the front. Additionally, the bottom edge of the phone has fewer speaker holes, suggesting a refined design.

Camera and Specifications of Pro Models

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models have been shown with a redesigned camera island that spans the entire width of the phone. These models are expected to include triple rear camera units, with changes in the arrangement of the flash and LiDAR sensor. Kohl speculated that the third telephoto sensor on the iPhone 17 Pro series might also see modifications.

Despite the detailed presentation, Kohl pointed out that the dummy units do not reflect some rumored features, such as a new MagSafe cutout or a unibody design. This absence may be attributed to the manufacturing process of the dummy models or the schematics used to create them. Nevertheless, the video provides valuable insights into the anticipated design changes.

Display and Layout Similarities

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are expected to maintain display sizes of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively, mirroring the dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The button layouts and the Dynamic Island notch appear to be similar to their predecessors, suggesting a continuity in design language. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 17 is rumored to retain the familiar aesthetics seen in the iPhone 16, ensuring a cohesive look across the lineup.

As anticipation builds for the iPhone 17 series, the combination of sleek design and advanced features is expected to attract significant consumer interest. With the official launch slated for September, Apple enthusiasts are eager to see how these new models will perform in the competitive smartphone market.
