Lava Agni 4 Set for Upcoming Launch in India; Design and Key Features Revealed

Lava is reportedly working on its next-generation smartphone, the Agni 4, which is set to succeed the Agni 3. Ahead of its anticipated launch in India, details regarding its specifications, design, and pricing have surfaced online. The Agni 3, which debuted in October 2024, featured a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chip and a unique mini AMOLED display. The upcoming Agni 4 is rumored to be powered by the more advanced MediaTek Dimensity 8350 SoC, indicating a significant upgrade for the brand.

Lava Agni 4 Pricing and Availability in India

According to a report from 91Mobiles, the Lava Agni 4 is expected to be priced around Rs. 25,000 in India. This estimate is based on the anticipated specifications and the pricing of its predecessor, the Agni 3. If confirmed, this would represent a notable increase from the Agni 3’s launch price of Rs. 20,999 for the base model, which includes 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Agni 3 also had a variant priced at Rs. 22,999 that included a charger, while the 256GB model was available for Rs. 24,999.

As of now, Lava has not officially announced the launch date for the Agni 4 in India. The company has also remained silent on the pricing details and the distribution channels through which the new smartphone will be made available to consumers. This uncertainty leaves potential buyers eagerly awaiting further information.

Lava Agni 4 Specifications and Design

The design of the Lava Agni 4 has also been revealed through a render shared by tipster Yogesh Brar. The image indicates that the smartphone will feature a horizontally aligned dual rear camera setup within a pill-shaped camera island, accompanied by an LED flash between the lenses. This marks a departure from the Agni 3’s triple camera configuration, suggesting a shift in design philosophy.

Additionally, the Agni 4 appears to forgo the mini AMOLED display that was a standout feature of its predecessor. The render suggests a more premium look with a metal frame and a white back panel, along with flat edges, contrasting with the Agni 3’s curved design. The power and volume buttons are likely to be positioned on the right side of the device, enhancing its usability.

In terms of specifications, the Agni 4 is expected to sport a 6.78-inch full-HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will reportedly be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chip, built on a 4nm process with a peak clock speed of 3.35GHz, and will feature UFS 4.0 storage. The phone is also rumored to include two 50-megapixel cameras and a substantial battery capacity of over 7,000mAh.

Comparative Features with Agni 3

For context, the Lava Agni 3 comes equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED touchscreen that boasts a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a peak brightness of 1200 nits. It operates on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X SoC, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Agni 3 also features an โ€œActionโ€ button, which allows users to switch between ringer and silent modes, activate the flashlight, or serve as a shutter button for the camera.

The Agni 3’s rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and another 8-megapixel telephoto camera, complemented by a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. It remains unclear whether the Agni 4 will retain the Action button or the mini AMOLED display, as these features were significant selling points for the Agni 3. As the launch date approaches, more details are expected to emerge, providing clarity on these features and the overall direction of Lava’s smartphone lineup.
