Kumkum Bhagya Written Update 6th April 2025

Scene 1: Setting the Stage

Devang walks over to the priest, greeting him with a polite smile. “Panditji,” he says, “we have prepared everything as you asked. Please check that everything is in the right place.” The priest nods and goes to inspect the setup. Meanwhile, Kranti looks around the bustling house. She sees Mayank and Harsh working on decorations and tells them, “Hurry up and finish these arrangements. We do not have much time.” Mayank and Harsh look at each other and nod, assuring her that all will be done quickly. Smita stands off to the side, looking tired. Kranti notices and asks, “Why are you not dressed yet? Everyone else is busy and ready.” Smita sighs, replying in a dry tone, “I do not see the point in dressing up now. There is too much to do. Maybe later.” Her words sound sarcastic, but Kranti ignores it, too focused on making the event perfect.

At the same time, Prarthna walks through the crowd toward Raunak, who is looking for something in a nearby corner. She holds out a shawl and says, “Can you give this to Baa? She asked for it earlier. I have to look after a few more things, so I cannot give it to her myself.” Raunak nods, taking the shawl from her. Prarthna also hands him a medium-sized bag, saying she needs to leave it somewhere safe before Seema comes looking for her. Then she steps away quickly. Raunak smiles and goes to Baa. “Here is the shawl,” he says brightly. “I think it will keep you warm.” Baa adjusts it around her shoulders and chuckles, “It looks good on me, but I think it might look even better on you!” Raunak plays along with a mock-serious face. “Oh, I see what you are doing,” he teases, “but you and I were never meant to be!” Baa laughs at his joke, and Raunak walks away, leaving her amused. Suddenly, out of that bag Prarthna left, a snake slides onto the floor. It catches no one’s attention at first. Prarthna, halfway across the room, suddenly remembers Seema might question her about the bag. She rushes back to get it, unaware that trouble has already crawled out of it.

Scene 2: A Snake in the House

In the middle of all the hustle, Raunak stands near Baa, chatting with her about the shawl. Smita steps up, smiling. “Raunak, you look nice,” she compliments, noticing his outfit. Before Raunak can say thanks, Mayank grabs his arm and says, “Come on, you are not completely ready yet. Let us fix your outfit and hair properly.” Raunak seems a bit confused but follows Mayank to a quieter spot. While they walk, Mayank whispers, “Raunak, you should just agree to marry Prarthna. She clearly cares for you, and everyone thinks you two are a good match.” Raunak shakes his head firmly. “That is not what I want. Please do not push me.” Mayank raises his hands in a surrendering gesture. “All right, all right. But think about it.” Just as Raunak opens his mouth to respond, a sudden pain shoots through his arm. He yells, clutching his sleeve. Mayank’s eyes dart down to see a snake coiled near Raunak’s leg. It has just bitten Raunak. Mayank shouts in alarm, causing people nearby to gather. The priest, who was checking the decorations, hurries over and warns, “That snake is dangerous and could be very poisonous. Stay back!”

In an instant, Kranti, Harsh, Devang, and others rush to see what is happening. Raunak staggers, feeling weak. Smita gasps, “Where did that snake come from?” The snake still hisses on the floor. Prarthna hears the commotion and dashes to the scene. She spots the snake near Raunak and quickly throws a thick blanket over it. With her hands covered by the cloth, she bravely grabs the wriggling snake and rushes to a window. She tosses it outside before it can bite anyone else. Raunak’s eyes close, and he collapses. Prarthna slides to the floor beside him. She pulls out a small handkerchief and wraps it tightly above the bite on his arm, hoping to slow the poison. Everyone crowds around, their voices rising in worry. The priest warns them again about how serious a poisonous snake bite can be. Smita covers her mouth with trembling hands, watching Raunak lie there, unmoving. Prarthna, shaken but determined, stays at his side, ready to help him in any way possible.

Scene 3: The Snake Charmer Appears

As Raunak lies on the floor, struggling to breathe, a man enters the Zaveri mansion. He carries a box and a long flute-like instrument. He looks around, searching for something. Harsh, still alarmed by Raunak’s condition, points to the man and demands, “Who are you? Why are you here?” The man steps forward cautiously. “I am a snake charmer. My snake is missing, and I believe it slipped into this house.” Hearing this, the entire family grows furious. Kranti exclaims, “So it is your snake that bit Raunak! How dare you bring it here?” The snake charmer lifts his hands in a nervous gesture. “I did not bring it here on purpose. I was passing by outside. My box must have opened somehow, and the snake escaped.” Some family members seem skeptical, but the man continues, “I am sorry, but let us focus on saving that young man first.” Payal, who has been watching quietly, discreetly signals the snake charmer from behind the crowd. She does not want him to tell anyone the real reason the snake got inside. He nods slightly, understanding her secret hint. So, he keeps repeating his story about the box being left open by accident.

Meanwhile, Prarthna cradles Raunak’s head in her lap. She pleads, “Someone call a doctor right now!” The snake charmer steps closer, scanning the worried faces. He announces in a grave tone, “The poison from that snake spreads fast. If Raunak does not get medical help in the next 15 minutes, things can turn bad.” Smita, tears in her eyes, begs, “Someone, please save him! We cannot lose Raunak like this.” The charmer adds another warning, “He must see a doctor, but there is one more way. If someone sucks out the poison, it might give him a better chance. But that person could also get poisoned.” At these words, people freeze in fear. The risk is huge. Nobody moves for a moment. Then, without hesitation, Prarthna leans over Raunak’s wounded arm. She presses her mouth to the bite area, trying to draw out the venom. Mayank and Harsh gasp in surprise. Kranti covers her face. After a few moments, Prarthna lifts her head, looking unsteady. Suddenly, she collapses beside Raunak, falling into darkness as the poison affects her as well.

Scene 4: A Race to the Hospital

Everyone around Raunak and Prarthna panics. Smita cries out, “We have to take them to the hospital now!” Devang and Mayank quickly gather Raunak’s limp body. Harsh and a few others carefully lift Prarthna. With help from the rest of the family, they hurry toward the entrance to get both patients into a vehicle. Kranti calls ahead to alert the nearest hospital. “Two people have been bitten by a snake!” she says urgently. “We are on our way.” Payal watches them rush out, staying behind with a worried expression. The snake charmer stands near her, looking uneasy. She scowls at him. He whispers, “You still owe me money. I have lost track of the snake. What if it bites someone else?” Payal snaps, “I do not care right now. Just stay quiet!” Meanwhile, at the hospital, the doctors and nurses quickly take Raunak and Prarthna into different rooms. Smita follows Raunak’s stretcher, calling out to the doctor, “He was bitten by a poisonous snake. Then Prarthna sucked the poison out to save him!” The doctor glances at Raunak’s swollen arm. “Sucking out poison is a very risky thing,” he notes. “Who did it?” Smita points over her shoulder. “Prarthna did. She collapsed right after.”

The doctor looks thoughtful. “That sort of action is usually taken by someone who cares a lot. Often, only a wife would risk her life like that.” Payal suddenly steps forward, blurting, “Actually, I am Raunak’s fiancée.” The doctor nods slowly, “All right. Wait outside for now. We need to treat him immediately.” Next, the doctor goes to check on Prarthna. Nurse Shalini stands by Prarthna’s bedside, preparing an injection. She speaks softly to the doctor, “This woman must care for Raunak deeply. She almost gave up her own safety for him.” The doctor agrees, “Yes, no one would do that unless they truly love the person in danger.” Outside in the corridor, Harsh and Mayank pace back and forth. Kranti tries to comfort Smita, who is trembling. They all wait for news, hoping both Raunak and Prarthna will survive. Devang calls the family members at home to update them, while the hospital staff rushes in and out of the emergency rooms.

Scene 5: Secrets and Suspicions

Back at the Zaveri mansion, the snake charmer lingers. He stands near Payal, lowering his voice so the others cannot hear. “I want more money,” he tells her firmly. “I cannot find my snake, and this has become a big mess.” Payal glares at him. “You have made everything worse. Why should I pay you more?” The snake charmer points an accusing finger. “You asked me to do this job. Now it is dangerous for me. People might blame me.” Payal’s face hardens. “I will not give you a single rupee more. And do not forget, if you dare tell the truth, nobody will believe you. They will think you are trying to trick them.” The snake charmer sneers. “Or maybe they will believe me if I say you made me bring the snake here.” Payal steps closer, her tone cold, “Go ahead. I dare you.”

They do not notice Ketki quietly stepping around the corner. She hears bits of their conversation and realizes something is off. She thinks, “Why are they talking about money and threats? Did Payal somehow cause that snake to appear?” Ketki decides to keep listening. She is shocked to learn that Payal might have planned this. She slips away before they notice her presence. Over at the hospital, the doctor comes out and speaks to the worried family. “Raunak’s condition is still serious. We are doing our best, but the poison spread quickly.” Shubhvi, who stands beside Smita, frowns. “If Prarthna sucked out the poison, why is Raunak still in danger?” The doctor sighs. “Poison can spread in many ways. Prarthna’s act helped, but it did not fix everything. You should thank her for taking such a risk.” Shubhvi’s frustration bubbles up. “Why is Prarthna fine if she took in the poison?” The doctor shakes his head. “She may not be fine. She could still face complications, but right now, she seems stable. That alone should tell you how strong her will is to save him.” Hearing this, Smita closes her eyes in relief that Prarthna might recover. Kranti thanks the doctor, “Thank you for helping them.” But Shubhvi remains suspicious. She does not understand how Prarthna could survive so easily when Raunak is still critical. Meanwhile, everyone else prays for Raunak’s speedy recovery.

Scene 6: A Painful Confession

Ketki returns home from the hospital, her thoughts still circling around what she overheard between Payal and the snake charmer. She finds Payal alone in the living room. Without warning, Ketki steps forward and slaps Payal across the cheek. Payal gasps, holding her face. “How dare you?” she cries. Ketki glares at her. “How dare you bring that snake here? If anyone finds out you put Raunak in danger, the whole family will turn against you.” Tears fill Payal’s eyes. Her voice trembles, “I did not mean for Raunak to get hurt like this. I love him.” Ketki stares at her, shocked. “Love? You almost killed him.” Payal shakes her head. “I never wanted him to die. I wanted to create a situation where he would notice me.  But everything went wrong.” Ketki points a finger at her. “If Raunak learns you are behind all this, he will never forgive you.” Payal tries to steady her voice. “I am desperate because Raunak loves Prarthna. I have seen how he looks at her. Everybody thinks they make a perfect pair.” Ketki narrows her eyes. “So you brought in a snake to mess things up?” Payal sobs, “I thought it would just scare people. I never planned for Raunak to get bitten. It was an accident!”

Her tears flow as she stands, trembling. Ketki steps back. “You are playing a dangerous game. If the family knows what you did, they will never trust you again.” Payal glances at the doorway, afraid someone might overhear. “Please, Ketki, keep this between us,” she begs. Ketki softens slightly. “I will not expose you yet, but you must stop these tricks.” Payal nods quickly, relief washing over her face. Meanwhile, at the hospital, the doctor exits Raunak’s room again. Smita and the others gather around, anxious for news. The doctor says, “Raunak is still under observation. We are giving him medicines to fight the poison.” He then adds gently, “In times like this, we should remember that Prarthna’s quick action saved him from worse danger.” Smita glances toward the room where Prarthna is resting. She silently thanks her. Just then, Raunak’s heart monitor beeps. The medical team rushes in to check him. Smita and Mayank follow, praying. Far from their ears, Payal’s confession remains hidden, causing a growing shadow over the Zaveri family.
