Krrish 4 Delayed Again Due to Budget Issues

The highly anticipated fourth installment of the Krrish franchise, starring Hrithik Roshan, faces yet another delay, this time attributed to budget constraints. Sources reveal that the film requires a staggering budget of approximately Rs. 700 crores, a figure that has deterred major studios from backing the project. As a result, the film’s production timeline has been pushed to 2026, with significant changes in the production team expected.

Budget Constraints Stall Production

The Krrish franchise has long been a staple of Indian cinema, but the financial demands of Krrish 4 have proven to be a significant hurdle. According to a reliable source, no studio is willing to invest the required Rs. 700 crores, especially in a post-Marvel landscape where superhero films are scrutinized closely. The source stated, “The studios were not confident about Krrish at this budget, given that it has been over a decade since the last installment.” This reluctance has forced the team to reconsider their approach to financing the film.

Hrithik Roshan had initially tasked his friend Siddharth Anand with securing a studio for the project. However, with the current financial climate and the studios’ hesitance, the team is now exploring alternative options. The production team is reportedly looking to engage with studios across India directly to negotiate a more feasible deal for the film.

Changes in Production Team

In light of the ongoing budget discussions, significant changes are underway in the Krrish 4 production team. Siddharth Anand and his production company, Marflix, will no longer be involved with the project. Following a closed-door meeting between Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan, the decision was made to shift the production responsibilities to FilmKraft, which will collaborate with a leading studio to bring Krrish 4 to fruition. Additionally, Karan Malhotra, who was brought on board by Siddharth Anand as the director, will also exit the project. With Anand stepping back, Malhotra’s departure signals a complete overhaul of the creative team. A new team will be assembled to reassess the budget and ultimately take the film into production. The Roshan family is optimistic that the success of Hrithik’s upcoming film, War 2, will help pave the way for Krrish 4.

New Timeline for Krrish 4

Initially slated to begin filming in the second half of 2025, Krrish 4’s timeline has now been extended to 2026. This delay marks yet another chapter in the long journey of the franchise, which has captivated audiences since its inception. The Roshan family remains committed to delivering a high-quality film that meets the expectations of fans, despite the setbacks.
