Italian Ambassador Antonio Bartoli: Enhanced India-Italy Partnership Expected with FTA Conclusion

Additionally, the FTA will include protective measures for farmers and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), promoting regulatory cooperation and transparency to facilitate smoother business operations in both markets.

Reflecting on the India-Italy relationship, Ambassador Bartoli mentioned a strategic roadmap established by the two Prime Ministers, which outlines a joint action plan for the years 2025 to 2029. This plan identifies key areas for cooperation, with a goal of increasing trade and investment to at least 20 billion euros. The sectors highlighted for potential collaboration include defense, space, connectivity, and the Indo-Mediterranean corridor.
