IPO Market 2026: More Than 190 Companies Prepare for Launch with Rs 2.5 Lakh Crore Fundraising Goal

India’s initial public offering (IPO) market is poised for a remarkable surge in 2026, with a diverse array of companies preparing to enter the public arena. Regulatory data indicates that 84 firms have already secured approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to raise approximately ₹1.14 lakh crore. Additionally, another 108 companies are awaiting clearance, collectively aiming for nearly ₹1.46 lakh crore. This could result in a staggering total of over ₹2.5 lakh crore being mobilized from more than 190 issuers, marking a significant year for investors and the market alike.

Reliance Jio: A Game-Changer in the Market

At the forefront of this anticipated wave is Reliance Jio, the telecom and digital arm of Reliance Industries. Expected to debut in 2026, Jio’s IPO could be the largest in Indian history, with valuations projected between ₹11 lakh crore and ₹12 lakh crore. If successful, this offering is likely to reshape market liquidity and influence investor strategies significantly. The excitement surrounding Jio’s potential listing reflects its pivotal role in the telecommunications sector and its impact on the broader economy.

National Stock Exchange: A Step Closer to Listing

Another major player in the upcoming IPO landscape is the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE). The exchange is nearing its listing after allocating around ₹1,300 crore to address outstanding regulatory issues. Market observers are eagerly awaiting a no-objection certificate from Sebi, which would pave the way for one of the most highly anticipated IPOs in the history of India’s capital markets. The NSE’s entry into the public market is expected to attract significant investor interest and enhance the overall market ecosystem.

Consumer Internet and Fintech Offerings

The consumer internet and fintech sectors are also set to contribute to the IPO frenzy. Flipkart, the Walmart-backed e-commerce giant, is preparing for a listing in 2026, targeting a valuation between $60 billion and $70 billion. This move positions Flipkart as one of the largest tech IPOs emerging from India. In the fintech arena, PhonePe has taken proactive steps by filing confidential draft papers with Sebi for a $1.5 billion IPO, aiming for a valuation of $15 billion. This listing is particularly significant as it will gauge investor appetite in the burgeoning digital payments market.

Other Notable IPOs on the Horizon

Several other companies are also gearing up for IPOs in 2026. OYO, the hospitality firm backed by SoftBank, is working on an issue that could raise up to $800 million, focusing on stability and profitability after previous delays. SBI Mutual Fund, the largest asset manager in India, is considering an IPO to raise as much as $1.2 billion in the first half of 2026. Additionally, Hero Fincorp plans to enter the market with an IPO of ₹3,668.13 crore, while Navi Technologies, founded by Sachin Bansal, aims for a public listing in the latter half of FY26. Quick-commerce firm Zepto is also preparing to refile its draft offer documents, targeting a fundraising of $450 million to $500 million.
