INS Tabar Enhances Naval Ties with Denmark During Esbjerg Visit

The Indian Navyโ€™s frontline stealth frigate, INS Tabar, commanded by Captain MR Harish, has docked at Esbjerg, Denmark, marking the start of a significant two-day visit. This visit is aimed at bolstering the already strong ties between the two nations and their naval forces.

During its stay in Esbjerg harbor, the crew of INS Tabar is scheduled to engage in a series of bilateral professional interactions with the Danish Armed Forces. These interactions are designed to foster greater cooperation and understanding between the two navies. In addition to the professional engagements, cultural exchanges are also planned, reflecting the depth of the relationship between India and Denmark.

The diplomatic ties between India and Denmark are rooted in a shared history of democratic traditions and a mutual commitment to regional and international peace and stability. These relations were further strengthened when they were elevated to the level of a โ€œGreen Strategic Partnershipโ€ during a Virtual Summit held on September 28, 2020, between Indiaโ€™s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Denmarkโ€™s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

INS Tabar, one of the earliest stealth frigates in the Indian Navy, is equipped with a versatile array of weapons and sensors, underscoring the shipโ€™s critical role in India’s maritime security. The frigate is part of the Western Fleet, which operates under the Western Naval Command based in Mumbai.

This visit to Denmark represents a continuation of the Indian Navy’s commitment to building and maintaining strong partnerships with navies around the world, furthering Indiaโ€™s strategic interests and contributing to global maritime security.
