INS Sunayna Arrives in Mozambique as Part of SAGAR Mission

INS Sunayna, currently deployed in Africa as part of the Indian Ocean Ship IOS SAGAR, docked at Nacala Port in Mozambique on April 17, 2025. The ship had previously participated in the inaugural India-Africa maritime partnership exercise, AIKEYME 25, held in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. This mission, aligned with India’s regional initiative for maritime collaboration, aims to strengthen international cooperation between India and various African nations.

Furthermore, military cadets from the Nampula Military Academy will have the opportunity to tour the ship, gaining firsthand insights into naval operations and fostering a deeper understanding of maritime security.

Following the completion of its port visit, INS Sunayna will embark personnel from the Mozambique Navy as Sea Riders for a joint surveillance mission in the Mozambique Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
