INS SAHYADRI AND INS KOLKATA TO JAKARTA, INDONESIA

Two frontline Indian navy vessels INS Sahyadri and INS Kolkata, mission deployed at South East IOR, arrived in Jakarta on 17 July 2023. The vessels received a warm welcome from the Indonesian Navy.

During the stopover, Indian and Indonesian navies personnel will engage in a wide range of professional interactions, joint yoga sessions, sports matches and deck visits, aimed at enhancing mutual cooperation and understanding between the two navies.

Upon completion of the operational turnaround, the two vessels will also participate in an at-sea Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with the Indonesian Navy to further strengthen the high degree of interoperability already existing between the two navies.

INS Sahyadri is the third in-house designed and built Project-17-class stealth frigate and INS Kolkata is the first in-house designed and built stealth destroyer of the Project-15A class. Both vessels were built at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd, Mumbai.
