India’s textile industry is expected to reach $350 billion by 2030, creating 3.5 crore new jobs. Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, shared this exciting news at the launch event for ‘Bharat Tex 2025’ in New Delhi. He also expressed hope that India will soon be recognized globally for its ‘Bharat’ brand and eco-friendly textile products. The event was attended by other important officials, including Union Minister of State for Textiles, Shri Pabitra Margherita, and Textiles Secretary, Ms. Rachna Shah.
Shri Giriraj Singh highlighted how the government’s PLI (Production Linked Incentive) scheme will help the textile industry grow. This scheme is expected to increase production and help Indian textiles build a stronger brand worldwide. The PLI scheme will also connect different parts of the textile value chain and attract foreign investment to India.
Shri Singh believes that India’s large and young population will help the country’s textile industry grow faster than China’s. He encouraged state governments to get involved in Bharat Tex 2025, which reflects the Prime Minister’s vision of “Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign.”
