In addition to financial backing, the government is ensuring continued access to industry-standard electronic design automation (EDA) tools under DLI 2.0. Increasing Local Consumption of Indian Chips
To further promote the use of domestically produced chips, the government is considering policies that would mandate increased usage of Indian chipsets in consumer electronics. Officials have stated that this approach aims to incrementally raise the value addition in manufacturing across various industry categories. Depending on the complexity of the electronic devices, the value addition could rise to between 15% and 35% once Indian chipsets are integrated.
