Indian Startup QWR Launches AI-Enhanced Smart Glasses Humbl

Question What’s Real (QWR), an innovative Indian deep-tech startup, has unveiled its latest creation, Humbl, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered pair of smart glasses. Touted as the first AI smart glasses made in India, Humbl offers a range of features akin to those found in the Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses. The startup plans to officially launch the product later this month, with shipping expected to commence later this year.

Introducing Humbl: A New Era of Smart Glasses

In a recent press release, QWR introduced Humbl, emphasizing its focus on utility, discretion, and contextual awareness. While the company has not disclosed extensive details about the device, initial impressions suggest that it closely resembles the Ray-Ban Meta in both design and functionality. Humbl can be worn as regular sunglasses, but its true capabilities emerge when the AI assistant is activated using the wake phrase โ€œHey Humbl.โ€

Once engaged, the AI assistant can perform a variety of tasks, including recording point-of-view videos through voice commands. It is designed to summarize meetings and conversations, set reminders, provide navigation assistance, and play musicโ€”all hands-free and through voice inputs. Additionally, the AI assistant boasts real-time translation capabilities, enhancing its utility for users in diverse situations.

Advanced Features and Functionality

The AI assistant integrated into Humbl is capable of collecting and processing data from both audio and video channels. Equipped with cameras, the device can capture visual feeds, allowing it to recognize objects and landmarks. This feature enables the assistant to guide users effectively, notifying them when they are approaching a turn during navigation.

Despite these impressive functionalities, QWR has not released specific hardware specifications or details regarding the large language model (LLM) that powers the AI assistant. While the launch is anticipated later this month, the startup has indicated that actual shipments of the device will not occur until the last quarter of 2025. As of now, the product is not listed on the startup’s website, although promotional videos can be found on their social media platforms.

About QWR and Its Innovations

Founded in 2017 by Suraj Aiar, QWR operates in the realms of augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and extended reality (XR). The startup has previously developed and marketed two different VR headsets, along with another model of smart glasses known as Aurl. Unlike Humbl, Aurl is an audio-based device featuring integrated speakers but lacks video cameras.

With the introduction of Humbl, QWR aims to position itself as a key player in the rapidly evolving market of smart wearable technology. As the company prepares for its official launch, tech enthusiasts and consumers alike are eager to see how this innovative product will perform in the competitive landscape of AI-powered devices.
