India vaccination drive-Day 72

India vaccination drive has administered 2.6 lakh vaccine doses as per provisional report till 7 am today. The vaccination drive was rolled out on 16thย January 2021.

As on Day-72 of the vaccination drive (28th March 2021), a total of 2,60,653 ย vaccine doses were given. Among which, ย 2,18,798 ย beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and 41,855 HCWs and FLWs received 2ndย dose of the vaccine.

So far, more thanย 6.05 cr (6,05,30,435) vaccine doses have been administered.ย  It covers around 5.16 crores of the first dosage and around 0.89 crores for the second dosage to HCWs, FLWs, beneficiaries aged more than 45 years with specific co-morbidities, and beneficiaries aged more than 60 years.

COVID-19 cases across states

The majority of new COVID cases are reported from primarily with states: Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh. As per the report, these states account for 84.5% of total new cases. In the last 24 hours, total 68,020ย new cases were registered. The maximum number of cases were reported from Maharastra (40,414), followed by Karnataka (3,082) and Punjab (2,870).

Indiaโ€™s cumulative recoveries stand atย 1,13,55,993 today and the national Recovery Rate stands at 94.32%. In the last 24 hours, 32,231 recoveries were registered. The maximum number of recoveries were reported from Maharashtra (17,874)

COVID related death has also risen in the last couple of days. In the last 24 hours, 291 deaths were reported. Seven states (Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu,ย  and Madhya Pradesh) accounts for 81.8% of the new deaths. Maharashtra saw the maximum casualties (108) and followed by Punjab.
