India is ranked at 56th place among safest countries in COVID-19 pandemic: Report

India is ranked at 56th place among 200 countries which are studied in the COVID-19 regional safety assessment report. The report ranks United states at 58, Russia at 61, Sweden at 65, and Pakistan at 148.

India is also categorised in the 3rd tier. The report categorised these 200 countries in 4 tiers. There are 20 safest countries in the 1st tier, which also includes Singapore, Japan, China. In the 2nd tier, there are 20 countries and 60 countries each in 3rd and the remaining 100 countries, which are studied, in the 4th tier.

 

Switzerland is the safest country in the world right now for COVID-19. South Sudan is exposed to the highest risk. Germany, Israel, Singapore, Japan stood at 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th rank respectively.

The report is published by Deep Knowledge Group, a consortium of companies and non-profits owned by Deep Knowledge Ventures, a Hong Kong-based investment firm. The study takes account of 130 quantitative and qualitative parameters, over 11,400 data points, and parameters like quarantine efficiency, monitoring and detection, regional resiliency, government efficiency of risk management as well as emergency preparedness.

As per the report, Sub-Saharan Africa and South America, and few countries in the Middle East and Asia Pacific are in the riskier zone.
