India Energy Week 2025: A Landmark Event

India is gearing up for a significant event in the global energy sector. The India Energy Week 2025 (IEWโ€™25) is set to take place from February 11 to 14, 2025, at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka. This event promises to be the first major global gathering on the energy calendar for the year. Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, emphasized the importance of this event during a recent media interaction. He noted that IEWโ€™25 will be the most comprehensive and inclusive energy gathering of the year, especially in light of recent global developments that are expected to reshape the energy market.

Expanding Scope and Participation

IEWโ€™25 is poised to be a landmark event in the global energy calendar, building on the success of its previous editions. The Minister highlighted impressive metrics that showcase the event’s growth. The exhibition space will increase by 65% compared to 2024, covering over 1 lakh square meters. This makes IEWโ€™25 the second-largest energy event globally in terms of ministerial and CEO participation, exhibition space, and the number of sessions.

The event will feature 105 conference sessions, which is a 15% increase from 2024 and a 24% increase from 2023. More than 70,000 delegates are expected to attend, marking a 55% rise from the previous year. The number of speakers will also increase to 500, which is 38% higher than in 2024. Additionally, over 700 exhibitors will participate, reflecting a 57% increase compared to last year. The event will also see a 35% rise in the number of abstracts received, indicating a growing interest in the topics to be discussed.

Focus on Clean Cooking Solutions

A key highlight of IEWโ€™25 will be the Clean Cooking Ministerial, organized by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. This initiative aims to bring together global policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to discuss the transition to clean cooking solutions. The event will showcase Indiaโ€™s success with the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) as a model for global adoption.

The goal is to foster international collaboration, drive policy discussions, and facilitate technology sharing. This will ensure that clean, affordable, and accessible cooking energy is available for households worldwide. The Clean Cooking Ministerial underscores India’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions and its role as a leader in the global energy transition.

Diverse Participation and Thematic Zones

IEWโ€™25 will feature participation from major Indian energy ministries, including the Ministry of Power, MNRE, NITI Aayog, and the Ministry of Mines. This reflects Indiaโ€™s commitment to integrated energy solutions. The event will also host 10 country pavilions, including representatives from Canada, Germany, Japan, the USA, and the UK.

Moreover, there will be eight thematic zones covering critical areas such as hydrogen, biofuels, and net-zero initiatives. The Sustainable Mobility Pavilion, set up by SIAM, will showcase 15 cutting-edge vehicle models from 10 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). This pavilion will focus on creating a “People-Centric Mobility Ecosystem,” highlighting the importance of sustainable transportation.

Showcasing Innovative Technologies

Minister Puri encouraged attendees to explore pioneering technologies developed by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). Key exhibits will include ONGCโ€™s deep-sea simulation game, HPCLโ€™s indigenous Solid Oxide Fuel Cell System, BPCLโ€™s LPG cylinder ATM, and CSIRโ€™s e-tractor for sustainable agriculture. These innovations demonstrate India’s commitment to advancing technology in the energy sector.

With its scale, innovation, and global participation, IEWโ€™25 is set to position India at the forefront of the global energy transition. The event promises to be a significant milestone in India’s journey towards sustainable energy solutions and a platform for international collaboration in the energy sector.
