India Certifies First Multi-Axle Sleeper Bus for Passengers
In a groundbreaking move for India’s passenger transport industry, the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) has officially issued its inaugural compliance certificate for a 15-metre multi-axle sleeper bus. This achievement aligns with the Automotive Industry Standards (AIS-119 and AIS-153) as well as the guidelines set forth by the Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR).
The honor was awarded to Synaty Automotive Pvt. Ltd. for its innovative 15-metre multi-axle sleeper bus configuration. This development is a pivotal moment in the certification process for one of the longest approved bus body designs available for passenger transport.
A Milestone for Passenger Transport
The certification ceremony took place in Manesar, Haryana, with Shri Saurabh Dalela, Director of ICAT, presenting the certificate to Shri Naresh Kumar Yadav, Managing Director of Synaty Automotive Pvt. Ltd. The event was attended by several senior officials from ICAT, underscoring the importance of this milestone.
Enhancing Long-Distance Travel Experience
The newly certified bus is designed specifically for long-distance journeys, featuring a host of attributes aimed at enhancing passenger safety, comfort, and overall travel experience. The vehicle can accommodate 42 berths in its sleeper variant or can be configured as a hybrid with 21 berths plus 42 seats.
In compliance with rigorous safety standards, the bus has undergone extensive testing to ensure it meets vehicle safety regulations and provides structural integrity, comfort, and passenger accommodation in alignment with automotive standards set by the CMVR.
