India Acknowledges the Bravery and Courage of Its Armed Forces

Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla emphasized India’s steadfast dedication to national security during a recent address in Jamshedpur. He praised the bravery and commitment of the Indian armed forces, warning that any attempts at terrorism within the country would face severe repercussions. His remarks came during the Platinum Jubilee celebration of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he also highlighted India’s progress in defense self-reliance and the importance of collective efforts in national security.

Tributes to Jharkhand’s Heritage

During his visit to Jharkhand, Shri Birla paid homage to the region’s historical figures, including Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Jamshedji Tata. He acknowledged the significant contributions of these leaders to India’s struggle for independence and industrial development. At Birsa Chowk in Ranchi, he laid floral tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda, recognizing his role in advocating for tribal rights and dignity. Additionally, he visited the Birsa Munda Museum, which celebrates the legacy of the tribal communities in the country. Shri Birla remarked that Jharkhand is a land of great historical significance, having produced leaders who have shaped India’s identity and progress.

Advancements in Defense Production

Shri Birla highlighted India’s transformation in the defense sector, noting the shift from heavy reliance on imports to becoming a key player in manufacturing and exporting defense equipment. He attributed this change to innovative policies and the active participation of Indian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s leadership, India has set ambitious goals for self-reliance in defense production, which he believes will enhance national security. The Lok Sabha Speaker emphasized that the industrial sector’s capabilities are crucial for strengthening the nation’s military power.

Vision for a Developed India

In his address, Shri Birla called for a collective effort to harness technology, competition, and skill development to achieve the vision of a developed India by 2047. He underscored the potential of India’s young and skilled workforce, noting that many Indians are now leading multinational corporations worldwide. This trend reflects India’s growing intellectual and entrepreneurial capabilities. He also discussed the ongoing evolution of India’s educational landscape, particularly with the implementation of the New Education Policy, which aims to transform institutions into global research and innovation hubs.

Shri Birla urged stakeholders to seize opportunities in various sectors, including information technology, green energy, and advanced manufacturing. He stressed the importance of investing in youth skilling and innovation to ensure sustainable and inclusive growth for the nation.

Role of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce

Shri Birla commended the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry for its long-standing contribution to the region’s economic and technological development. He encouraged the Chamber to serve as a platform for democratic dialogue, where the private sector, government, and civil society can collaboratively shape India’s industrial future. The event was attended by notable figures, including Minister of State for Defence Shri Sanjay Seth and former Chief Minister Shri Arjun Munda, who joined in celebrating the Chamber’s achievements and discussing the path forward for Jharkhand and India as a whole.
