IEPFA Signs MoU with Kotak Mahindra Bank to Enhance Investor Education

In a landmark initiative aimed at bolstering investor education and protection, the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) has partnered with Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited (KMBL). This collaboration, facilitated by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs of India, seeks to enhance the reach of vital investor awareness messages through KMBL’s extensive network. The partnership will leverage both physical and digital platforms to promote responsible investing and safeguard investor rights.

Strategic Partnership for Investor Awareness

The newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IEPFA and Kotak Mahindra Bank is set to significantly amplify the dissemination of investor education content. IEPFA’s curated materials will be prominently displayed across various KMBL platforms, including ATMs, kiosks, websites, mobile applications, and social media channels. This initiative aims to educate the public on crucial topics such as responsible investing, financial fraud prevention, and the protection of investor rights. By utilizing digital banners, short films, and educational videos, the partnership intends to create a more informed investor community.

Implementation Timeline and Outreach

The rollout of this initiative is planned for the financial year 2025-2026, with the IEPFA incurring no financial obligations. Kotak Mahindra Bank’s extensive domestic presence, boasting over 2,000 branches and more than 3,000 ATMs, will ensure that the educational content reaches a wide audience. This strategic outreach is designed to engage diverse segments of the population, making investor education accessible to all. The collaboration is expected to foster a culture of informed investing, which is essential for the overall health of the financial ecosystem.

Leadership and Commitment to Financial Empowerment

Under the guidance of Smt. Anita Shah Akella, the CEO of IEPFA and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the authority continues to pursue innovative collaborations aimed at enhancing financial literacy. The MoU was exchanged between Smt. Samiksha Lamba, Deputy General Manager at IEPFA, and Mr. Vishal Agarwal, Senior Vice President and Head at Kotak Mahindra Bank.
