ICICI Bank Revises Service Charges for ATMs, Demand Drafts, and Cash Transactions

ICICI Bank is set to implement a significant revision of its service charges starting July 1, 2025. The changes will affect various banking transactions, including fees for demand drafts, ATM usage, cash deposits and withdrawals, and debit card services. While the new fee structure will apply to both metro and non-metro customers, senior citizens will enjoy some exemptions.

Revised Charges for Demand Drafts and ATM Transactions

Under the new fee structure, customers will incur a charge of Rs 2 per Rs 1,000 for demand drafts issued through cash, cheque, or account transfers. This will come with a minimum fee of Rs 50 and a maximum cap of Rs 15,000 per transaction. For ATM transactions, customers using non-ICICI Bank ATMs in major metro cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, will continue to receive three free transactions per month. After this limit, the bank will charge Rs 23 for financial transactions and Rs 8.5 for non-financial transactions. In non-metro areas, customers will be allowed up to five free transactions per month, with similar charges applying beyond this limit. At ICICI Bank ATMs, customers can make five free financial transactions monthly, with additional transactions costing Rs 23 each. Senior citizens are exempt from these charges.

Changes to IMPS and Cash Transactions

The Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) will also see a revised fee structure. Outward transaction charges will be as follows: Rs 2.50 for transactions up to Rs 1,000, Rs 5 for transactions between Rs 1,001 and Rs 100,000, and Rs 15 for transactions from Rs 100,001 to Rs 500,000. For cash deposits, customers can make three free transactions per month at branches and cash recycler machines (CRMs). Beyond this, a fee of Rs 150 will apply for each additional deposit. Deposits up to Rs 1 lakh per month will remain free, but exceeding this limit will incur a charge of Rs 3.5 per Rs 1,000 or Rs 150, whichever is higher. Similar rules apply to cash withdrawals, with three free withdrawals allowed per month and Rs 150 charged for additional transactions.

Increased Debit Card Fees

ICICI Bank has also announced an increase in debit card fees. The annual fee for regular debit cards will now be Rs 300, while customers in rural areas will pay Rs 150. In the event of a lost or damaged card, a replacement fee of Rs 300 will be charged. These changes reflect the bank’s ongoing adjustments to its service fees, impacting a wide range of customers across different regions. As the implementation date approaches, customers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new fee structure to avoid unexpected charges.
